Writing Desire
Explore your erotic imagination through somatic practice, creative writing, and community conversation.
Time & Location
Oct 24, 2026, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Heavy Manners Library, 2115 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90026, USA
About the event
Using prompts drawn from research on erotic psychology and a somatic meditation, we’ll identify the themes and dynamics that have shaped our erotic imaginations and discover what fuels our desire. From there, we’ll use those insights as inspiration for a short piece of erotic writing. Along the way, we'll explore examples of erotica and participate in group discussion about desire, fantasy, and erotic expression.
This 3-hour workshop is part self-inquiry, part creative writing, and part community conversation. You'll leave with a deeper understanding of your unique eroticism, greater confidence in embodying and expressing your desires, and a piece of writing drawn from your own experience and imagination.
This workshop is for you if...
● You want to feel more confident and connected to your desire.
● You're interested in sexuality as a tool for deepening self-discovery, healing, and
self-awareness.
● You've ever wondered why certain experiences, dynamics, or fantasies are so
compelling to you.
● You appreciate spaces where sexuality can be discussed with openness, depth, and
curiosity.
● You enjoy journaling and creative writing.
This space is open to all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and walks of life. An interest in creative writing or erotica is great, but no prior writing experience is required. And sharing is always optional!
